A little of everything

We were pretty busy during August. We had a sleepover with some cousins. They were great to have over and both my boys loved having them.

Video games and treats. What else do you need?

Where there is popcorn...there is Carter. He got this down off the kitchen table all by himself without spilling and then preceeded to eat just about the whole bowl. I'm not kidding.

We watched a late movie, "Megamind". It's a household favorite of ours. So funny and entertaining!

Landen and Rob have also spent a couple nights in the tent in our backyard. Landen was in heaven and loved every minute of it. He "helped" put up the tent.

Flashlight, lamp, and ipod. Loving it.

Carter has gotten big enough to put the stickers on the window. He was so cute, until he started eating/tearing them into pieces. But, it was fun while it lasted.

Popsicles and Swimming

I'm sorry these first few pictures aren't in order, I kind of got in a hurry. We went swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard last Friday and had a blast. Well, Landen did at least. After going under a couple of times Carter was out for good. Landen had almost as much fun with the pool after the water was out of it.

This is probably a little mean but we had Landen thinking that he needed to get all the water out with two plastic cups all by himself. He was pretty vigilant for a while.

He got a system down pretty good. Eventually he was done and said it was too hard. But I think he had fun trying.

Landen, loving the water.

Cousin Garrett was there and Carter did not like his mommy holding him. He was pretty sure that if I was holding Garrett I needed to hold him too to make sure I knew who my baby was. It was pretty funny.

Carter LOVES popsicles. He won't let me help him either. He is a "big boy" and can do it all by himself.

He started off picking at it with his fingers and putting it into his mouth.

He eventually go the hang of it.

He was a pretty big mess by the time he was done. But what is childhood for? Making messes!

The 4th of July was pretty good this year. Rob worked the night before and the night of but we had fun with Grandma and Grandpa Toponce, and Michelle and Braden. We went to the Riverdale parade which always supplies ample candy.

We spent a lot of time together as a family the next weekend. We went to the zoo which is always a good time.

Carter LOVED seeing the monkeys.

Landen had fun seeing the animals too. But if you ask him what his favorite part was he will say "Riding the rides!"

And of course, there was the slide shaped like a snake. It was really nice to have fun as a family and just take it easy for a few days.

Some recent events

Kristen finally had her baby. I'm a little behind on getting pics up. He is 2 weeks old and a happy, healthy baby. He is even sleeping pretty good at night. Lucky girl!

Isn't he cute!

My boys got their first hair cut in a couple of months. Aunt Kristen was a little busy:) Don't they look cute!

Trains and Rocks

We had a little bit of time to waste last night so we went to see the trains at the Union Station. The kids had a blast between climbing on the trains and throwing the plentiful rocks.

Rocks are a boys best friend.

Landen was actually a little nervous at first. He realized (for the first time I think) just how big the trains are.

Soon enough he was climbing all over everything. He had a great time.

California!

We just got back from a wonderful trip to California. Rob's parents had their 40th wedding anniversary on Wednesday and to celebrate they flew the family to Cali and rented a beach house. It was a lot of fun with a lot of great memories made.

This is the view of the ocean from the deck at the beach house. It was awesome to sit out there in the mornings and watch the surfers.

The house came with all kinds of toys for the beach and the kids loved playing with.

We went down to the beach the first night there just to check it out. Landen loved the sand, hated the water. The moving water scared him.

Disneyland was kind of busy and the crowds were everywhere. Rob's parents bought Landen this bubble gun and he had tons of fun with it.

This just about sums up every line that we were in. Carter just cried and the person holding him ended up wanting to pull their hair out.

The second night we watched World of Color which amazing but the wait was a little long. Here is Carter being entertained by a cousin and a blinking bracelet.

Landen was having a great time. Notice the bubble gun.

Here are all the kids playing a game to pass the time.

Landen was so tired that he completely passed out after the show. Grandpa was great to carry him to the car.

The second day we saw some characters which was really fun for the kids. Landen was so excited to see Goofy and gave him a great big hug.

Carter spent a lot of time in this thing!

We went to Mickey's house to visit. Landen was really really excited to meet Mickey Mouse. He also had to show him his bubble gun.

We were smart the second day and rented a stroller for Landen. Not only did we not have to carry him everywhere but he took a little nap.

The second night we watch Fantasmic. While waiting Landen played around with Aunt Arianne and ate a giant sucker. He was in heaven.

Waiting.....

On the way out of the park we saw Captain Hook. Landen loves Captain Hook and wanted to meet him.

The next several days were spent at the beach and on the docks at shops. We went to the wonderful restaurant with giant sandwiches. But they were DELICIOUS!

Chilling on the couch, watching a cartoon with cousins and grandma, eating a fudge popsicle. Can't get much better then that.

Landen enjoyed the flight home with a movie on the nook and headphones. Since then we have just been recooperating. It was a great trip but it is great to be home.
